 Marketing Specialist

  Description: The Marketing Specialist provides input to, manages, and implements the creative process. Under the direct supervision of the Marketing Director, the Marketing Specialist executes the details of the marketing plan for each Bible Group product, coordinating all campaign activities with sales, production and publishing. 1. Oversees creative development and implementation of marketing campaigns; works closely with Marketing Director to develop messaging, themes and tangible product selling hooks for each product release and for seasonal and thematic campaigns 2. Creates media and sales support elements, working with in-house designers to meet communication goals of the marketing plan, communicating strategic directives and coordinating overall campaign details 3. Creates schedules and/or project sheets for all campaigns so that involved marketing team members and vendors are aware of due dates and responsibilities such that all deadlines are met. 4. Manages bid requests, cost projections and budget creation for all campaigns 5. Coordinates vendor and freelance relations 6. Creates product descriptions in CAMPER, populating catalogs, tip sheets and other product-specific sales materials, focusing on needs-based messaging and meeting all input deadlines 7. Coordinates use of new media and website content 8. Executes all media buys with Director of Marketing input and approval 9. Coordinates trade show and conference materials and design details; develops presentations 10. Provides list and database management for all external campaigns and internal needs 11. Creates and reporta data analysis to Marketing Director and managers  
  Skills: Minimum: Extremely detail oriented and experienced in multi-tasking in the coordination of all aspects of marketing campaigns; knowledge of Christian retail market; a passion for the mission of Thomas Nelson Inc; proficient with MSOffice and MAC applications. Target: Design knowledge and copywriting skills; under-standing of design software and production proc-esses; knowledge of budgeting, bid processes and project estimation; exceptional interpersonal skills; project and detail management; knowledge of mul-tiple channels. 
  Experience: Minimum: 3 – 5 years experience within a marketing-related, sales-driven industry preferably publishing, bookselling or other retail experience or consumer goods background; relevant and recent experience with new media; experience supervising design, fulfillment and trade show vendors. Target: 5+ years of relevant experience in publishing, book selling or closely related retail background; experience supervising teams and managing complex marketing campaigns; hands-on experience with development of new media strategies; knowledge of, or experience in, Christian retailing highly desirable. 
  Education: 4 year degree in marketing communications, advertising, design or marketing-related field.
