 Digital Content Specialist

  Description: The Digital Content Specialist has a critical role in the new DigiReady process with the position’s primary responsibilities being the generation of critical ebook formats from the XML, the ongoing maintenance of in-house DigiReady scripts and assisting overall in digital content workflow. The Digital Content Specialist will: 1. Convert XML to Mobipocket, ePub and other ebook formats as assigned for titles that are developed through the DigiReady process. 2. Maintain and, when necessary, create new scripts for the processing of various file formats for progression through the DigiReady process. 3. Assist in the digital content workflow to and relationship management with Ingram Digital as it relates to TNI’s use of CoreSource and related activity. 4. Assist in the digital content workflow to and relationship management with third-party conversion vendors. 5. Assist in tracking titles in their various file formats through the digital content development process. 6. Assist in documenting digital workflow procedures and file specifications for all types of content (text, audio and video) using Microsoft applications (including Visio and Sharepoint) and other project management aids. 7. Assist with distribution of files to sales and promotional channel partners. 8. Assist in monitoring and reporting on outside vendors performance as it relates to backlist conversion and the further development of TNI’s digital content development process. 9. Perform other duties related to digital content as assigned. 
  Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of sound project management practices. Working knowledge of multiple digital mark-up schemas for content. Proficient with Mac and PC systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills with a passion for great customer service. Preferred candidates will have strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications, particularly Visio and Sharepoint. Familiarity with other multimedia file formats such as mp3, wav, mpeg4, flv, and avi is a plus.  
  Experience: At least 3 years of experience working in a technical environment with multiple digital formats. Experience in Perl and other scripting languages. Experience with data transmissions, FTP, ingestion portals, metadata and web technologies. Strong working experience with XML is highly desired. 
  Education: A BA or BS Degree in a technology field is required.
